Welcome back to Home of the Week! I'm delighted to share this charming home located in southeast Cedar Rapids! The space beckons you inside with the newly added front porch complete with a pergola. Original tile flooring and new finished hardwood floors line the halls and a freshly updated kitchen space is completed with stainless steel appliances. Let's take a tour!

A closer peek at the new front porch!

Gobs of natural light pour into the spacious living room. I love that the fireplace was updated with a few decorative pieces. This is a simple area to change throughout the seasons- candles and a mirror or seashells for summer while pumpkins and a bundle of birchwood could be added for the fall months.

Wood cabinets were a nice touch to match the rest of the home. They updated but still kept the original feel of the space.

This steel blue beautifully accents the wood found throughout the home. A good trick to underplay (or highlight!) wood features in the home is to find the undertone color and pick the opposite color to bring out the wood tones, or a similar color to keep it less pronounced. In this case, the undertone of the wood is a red/orange- blues and greens will bring out the color while purples/beiges/grays would tone it down.

This cute bedroom has stairs that lead to the attic space for extra storage- or an additional closet!

I love this spacious backyard! There are so many areas here to suit whatever need you may have: lounging, dining and a fire pit along with plenty of room for kids and pets to play- or plant a garden.

Be sure to check this home out in person this Saturday at the open house from 2:00 - 3:30 pm or contact the listing agent, Deanna Long, to set up a private showing. For more homes like this one, visit our website cbhrealty.com. See you next week!
