  OPEN HOUSE - Sunday, April 29, 2018 ~ 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Many things drew me to this home when I was searching for this weeks blog post. I love that it's slightly tucked back from the street. I immediately admired the set of stairs leading to the front door and I fawned over the quaint cobblestone framing the tiered yard. What a perfect area to spark creativity for anyone who enjoys landscaping!

This colonial style home, located in Country Club Heights, was designed by Grant Wood and McKay. Meticulously maintained, it's had new siding, windows, front porch, master bath, flooring, shingles, air conditioning, water heater and much more added since 2003. An absolute must-see.... which you can do THIS SUNDAY at the open house from 2 pm to 4 pm.

Let's take a tour!

Look at that darling entryway! I love when a home features an actual entryway before leading into the rest of the house. Those floors, which look original to the home, are absolutely gorgeous. The dining room is to the left of the image and the living room is on the right.

Plenty of natural light, a fireplace and French doors leading to the all-seasons room. I would add a larger rug to cozy this space up, and of course, some plants!

A peek into the dining room which features a cheery yellow color, crown molding and those beautiful hardwood floors. If wallpaper isn't your cup of tea, you can get an idea of what wainscoting might look like in this room (my vote!) or you could remove and keep the wall all one color.

Take a look at this gorgeous, updated kitchen! It's absolutely huge! Between the color, cabinet and updated lighting- there isn't much that needs my additional comments.

Off the kitchen is a tv room with a 2nd fireplace and more of those beautiful french doors.

Do you also feel like this house keeps going and going? Through the french doors from the tv room you'll find this space which is being used as an office. recessed lighting and dark accents keep it sophisticated and fresh!

I love this shot. It shows the unique and beautiful stairwell. That little hidden closet is the perfect space for cleaning supplies, coats or extra storage. How beautiful are the shades of wood combined with the fresh white trim? I love mixing modern touches with the character of old homes.

I'm showing you a peek into the bathroom because.... who says old styles don't come back?? Take a look at that great patterned flooring, which just happens to be the current rage right now. Are you someone who enjoys new styles but is scared to jump into something that may go out in a few years? Tone down the paint color with a subtle shade of gray and remove the floral window shade. You've got a modern touch that's not overwhelming.

I present to you- the all-seasons room! It's a touch of sunshine in here. I love this happy yellow color. Even the grayest winter day can't dull the summer vibe in here.

We're ending our post with a shot of this great fenced in yard, complete with a detached 4-stall garage. For more views of this home, check out the open house this Sunday, April 29th from 2 pm to 4 pm.
