Welcome back to "Home of the Week"! I'm so excited to share this home with you in Northeast Cedar Rapids. As I was scrolling through the images I kept thinking to myself "You don't have to live in a big home to have it make a big statement". At 783 square feet, this home packs on the charm - let's take a tour!

Pay no mind to the ever-mounting snow pile (will it EVER melt?!) - the wreath adds such a cozy and welcoming touch. Along with that, you'll notice an attached garage which is always a bonus when you live in this part of the country.

You immediately walk into the living room. This fireplace adds a great touch to the room. You could go with the ever-popular shade of gray on the walls, or you could mix it up and bring in a bold color. I really think it could work in here! I would take down the curtains to maximize the light that can shine in and add in a loveseat and a chair or two. It's hard to tell from this angle but there is a fairly good section of corner wall space on the other side of the fireplace. This would be the perfect spot to add a chair that could be quickly pulled out when additional guests arrive, OR it could be a fun spot for a bar cart that houses your favorite cocktail kit or coffee/team items.

I don't mind the dark color of the fireplace but if you really wanted to brighten the room, you could paint it! I like that a mirror was added above it, but it would also be a good place for a wall-mounted tv. By mounting it to the wall, you leave yourself a little room for decorating the mantel if you so choose. to complete this space I would add in a rug, like the current owner did, and I would also add in several additional light sources to really keep this place well lit.

On the other side of the living room is the dining room which is just off the kitchen. If you wanted to do something a little bit different, it might be fun to add a built-in breakfast nook here to maximize the space. You could also stay the traditional route and go with a regular dining table- you can't go wrong!

This updated kitchen was a great addition to the home! It packs a lot of storage spots into a small area!

Dark wood flooring and white trim are another perk found in the bedrooms and throughout the rest of the house. However, would you have guessed this home would also have a large walk-in closet?

You could even add shelving for shoes in the portion at the end of the closet!

I like the bold shade of blue that was used in the bathroom. This type of bright color could be a fun addition throughout the rest of the home.

Last, but certainly not least, is a quick view of the backyard! Mature trees and a patio area are the perfect spot for relaxing on warm summer evenings - if summer ever arrives! This yard is much bigger than expected but is the perfect spot to create your own oasis.

Packed with charm this home definitely won't be on the market for long. Get in touch with Aly Garza, the listing agent and schedule a private tour! For more homes like this one, visit us at cbhrealty.com. See you next week!
