Oh Yes we are!
In real estate, Bob and I look at a lot of houses. We have been inspired by so many of our clients. In particular, some of the bathroom remodels they’ve done. One client went with two raised multi-colored mosaic basin bowls. They kept the rest of the room clean and simple. This afforded two elements we encourage as “key” in every room you decorate. . . A surprise and a focal point. When I stepped into their bathroom, it was such a delightful surprise to see the beauty of the vibrant colors and various pattern in these basin bowls. It was a focal point of beauty and I even snapped a picture of it to show others. They are truly functional art pieces that add interest and appeal to their home. Some other clients, whose home we listed, built an amazing open shelved vanity with double sinks. There master suite is the inspiration for this blog.
Our son-in-law and daughter are on their third renovation/remodel. These projects included five major bathroom renovations. I will blog at another time to share with you some tips our daughter has learned over the years for making bathroom space functional, practical and beautiful. Our son-in-law will also be contributing both blog and videos for Team Raeside to help you realistically know how much a project will cost and ways to save money. Bob and I will speak to “return on investment” when you are trying to decide how much to do and what it will cost.
Our desire as your realtors is to help you make wise decisions when buying or selling a home. Most of our clients that list with us ask what they need to do to get the house ready to list. Our answers vary depending on when they are thinking about selling their home. If you are planning on staying in your home for a few years, then by all means do some updating that you can enjoy. We would be happy to come to your home, do a walk-through with our stager and get you a list of things to do to get ready to sell. This is at no cost to you.
Our home is over 20 years old and the master bath is in need of updating. It is worn and tired. We will have our son-in-law build us a vanity similar to the one you see in the picture. Based on our daughters advice (she has three children 5 and under), we are going to put a farmhouse sink in. Think about it, it just makes sense! Instead of doors we will be putting drawers and open shelving. I will have covered baskets that I place on the shelves with my cleansing regime, cosmetics, blow dryer, flat iron and extra towels.
For the floors Bob and I agree on patterned tiles with timeless, classic tiles for the shower and any walls we may do. I absolutely love a clean look in a bathroom for a lot of reasons. Where I’ll add interest to simplicity is with the patterned floor tile. I am also a sucker for chandeliers in just about every room. The big box stores have got so much to choose from at prices most anyone can afford. It helps that we have family with mad skills and that we aren’t afraid to remove wallpaper and paint ourselves. But even if you don’t have the skills or time and desire to tackle a home project on your own, there are so many ways you can save money and still achieve a designer look.
Lots of you have been asking for ideas and ways to save money with your home projects. Team Raeside hopes this is helpful. Please don’t hesitate to give us a call or email us with any questions you might have. We are thrilled to help with your real estate needs.
