I am active at Westminster Presbyterian church, singing in the choir, acting on the Session, serving as moderator of the student ministries committee, and participating in several search committees.
After the flood of 2008, you could find me downtown helping area businesses clean and rebuild.
Though I am not a good bowler, I have participated in the Bowling for Kids Sake to raise money for Big Brothers and Big Sisters for many years.
I love to volunteer my time and talents and feel that I get more back than I will ever be able to give.
Our family loves to travel, and just about March, when the Iowa winters become so long, you will probably find us somewhere on a beach. Though I am not a skier, my husband and son love to go to the mountains, and I can appreciate the beautiful scenery and restaurants. My dream trip is a Greek island cruise, some day it will happen.
I love good food, good wine, and there is not much better in life than sharing those things with good friends.
Born and raised in Keokuk, IA, I attended college at Culver Stockton in Canton, MO. My first job was with the Division of Higher Education in St. Louis, MO. It was there that I was able to experience singing with the St. Louis Symphony Chorus, performing with a four-member vocal group, and exploring all the opportunities that a city has. It was also there that I decided I was not a big city girl and moved to Cedar Rapids. The moment I got to town, I felt as if I had moved home.
I spent many years performing with Theatre Cedar Rapids and serving on their Volunteer Board. It was here that I met my husband and that we are raising our family of two children, and one rescue dog.
