Welcome to my Website

Good communication is the cornerstone of any successful relationship. You can count on me to provide you with the information you need on a schedule and in a manner that suits you best.  Call so we can get started today!

I have lived and worked in the Cedar Rapids area since 1977. My knowledge of the Community and the Cedar Rapids market is one of my greatest strengths and makes me an asset to you whether you are buying or selling. I will be there with you every step of the way.  My goal is to make the process enjoyable for you and to make every transaction as seamless as possible

I find myself enjoying the vast diversity of clients and have chosen to keep my focus pretty broad.  I  love the first time home buyer!  They are so excited and nervous and eager!  Teaching them about the process of buying a home and connecting them with lenders and ultimately finding them a home they love is a dream come true!

Sellers are fun to work with because, as an agent with Coldwell Banker Hedges Realty, I have so many tools available to market their home my job is made easy!  As a Certified Home Marketing Specialist, I can help them prepare their home for the market.  The first impression is very important!

Relocating buyers and sellers are also a pleasure to work with.  Whether you are moving into or out of the area, I will be happy to assist you!

I am also working with Witter Custom Homes for the buyer with discriminating taste!  If you are looking to build a new home where the standard features are upgrades without the price tag of an upgrade, we are the team you need.  These homes are definitely not vanilla, cookie cutter homes.

Community Involvement

I am active in my church, local American Heart Association's Go Red For Women and the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event.  I also make an added effort to support downtown businesses.  The community is making great progress with efforts to revitalize the downtown area after the 2008 flood.  I do my part as a member of the Cedar Rapids community by patronizing downtown establishments as often as possible.

Professional Background

Prior to becoming a REALTOR® I worked as a supervisor in a union atmosphere. The skills needed to be an exceptional supervisor parallel the skills needed to be a great REALTOR®.  This made transitioning into real estate a seamless process.  Listening to people and helping them achieve their goals makes my job fun and exciting! I find it very rewarding to meet new people and take part in helping them realize their dreams in real estate!

Personal Background

I am originally from Kentucky. My family came to Iowa via my father's career. His career took our family to Indiana, Wisconsin and finally Iowa. This experience, though challenging, helped me be adaptable to change and have an appreciation for the impact relocating has on individuals and families.

I am the mother of two wonderful children and have been blessed with three delightful grandchildren. My time with them is priceless! Activities we like to participate in are bowling, boating, biking, golfing, walking and just hanging out together. There's nothing better than throwing something on the grill and sharing a few laughs. Life is good!

Professional Interests

Since becoming a REALTOR®, I have been an active member of the Cedar Rapids Board of Realtors Scholarship Committee.  It is an honor to be part of an organization that continues to support the development of the youth of our community...for they are our future!  Being able to notify guidance counselors that a student or students from their school has been awarded one of our scholarships is always a moment of great joy!

In addition, I have become an active volunteer for the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.  There is nothing more rewarding than donating my time to help such great causes.

Personal Interests

My perfect vacation includes sunshine and beaches! I have taken annual cruises forseveral years andhave found it a great way to see a lot of different places and experience their culture. I usually try to venture a little off the tourist's path and find someplace local to try authentic food from the area and experience the people in their normal day to day world. My ultimate goal with travel is to take my family with me on a once in a lifetime vacation. I have it on my dream board. What's on yours!?

I love new experiences and am usually willing to try most anything at least once. I am still trying to find the courage to go skydiving. I know it will be an incredible experience, but something about intentionally jumping out of an airplane is a little above my comfort level at this point!

At the end of the day, I am a homebody. As much as I enjoy traveling and experiencing life, I am always happy to be back home!

I placed in the top ten in my Prairie High School graduating class with a 3.78 GPA.  I took various classes at Kirkwood Community College in Computers and Accounting.  In addition, I participated in several management development classes, also at KCC.  My on the job training has developed many of the skills needed to be a great real estate agent!  I wouldn't trade that training and experience for anything!
