I was born and raised near Delhi, Iowa, where I grew up on our family farm. I graduated from Maquoketa Valley High School. I was then drafted into the United States Army and served one year in Vietnam. After two years of college, I became a Union Ironworker. I lived in Los Angeles for over 20 years, where I met my wife Cathy. Our three children were born there too.
We returned to Iowa in 2003, while I continued to travel as a Project Manager for a heavy lift company, Rigging International. I retired from Ironworkers Local 433 in 2011 after 35 years. It was then that I decided that Real Estate would be my next challenge. I am thrilled to be working with a nationally known company, but owned locally.
My wife and I live in the Manchester area and we are members of St. Patrick's Church. Our 3 adult children live in the Cedar Rapids area.
For the last three years, my wife and I have been involved with Seeds of Hope a local project that is part of Foods Resources Bank (FRB). FRB is a consortium of 15 aid organizations that assist families worldwide in becoming self-sufficient. Seeds of Hope is a program that utilizes donated land, seed, planting, equipment, fertilizer etc... The money generated from the planting is then given to various organizations in support of Food Resources Bank. I am proud to report that Seeds of Hope is beginning it's ninth year and nearly $250,000 has been donated for programs and operations of FRB.
