Welcome to our Website

Just a few things that I would like to say, first of all welcome to my website. I hope that you find it interesting and informative. My philosophy is getting it right from the first interview.  I need to find out the amenities that you are most interested in for the purchase of your new home.  Getting you to that next phase of your life is what I do.

As a list agent for you as a seller, we need to get your home ready prior to the first viewing. Seeing your home at its best possible light will be the combination that sells your home for the best possible price.  Buyers come armed with reasons not to like your home.  We hope to put your best assets to the forefront and with pricing it right and considering the current market conditions we will get your the best possible results, proven many times over - period.

Community Involvement

We have participated in various auctions for the American cancer society fundraisers, right now my daughter is doing the relay for life in Ames.  I have over the years been a chairperson for neighborhood collections for Am Heart, I donate to cystic fibrosis, the St Judes Children hospital, the smile train and as well as many others over the years.

We have participated in the political caucuses over the years, hosted interns at our home, and gone to many rallies, watched several presidents walk off planes at the Cedar Rapids Airport, and even saw President Clinton speak at the opening of the National Czech and Slovak Museum in The Czeck Village of Cedar Rapids Iowa.

Personal Interests

We both love playing tennis and riding our bicycles.  We do golf some and I like to read novels and go to the movies.  We go to most Hawkeye home football games, some away games and always some basketball games each year.  Now that our daughter attends Iowa State we have softened somewhat with the state rivalry thing.

Our most recent favorite resturant is the 'Sushi House'.  It is a very clean place to eat with fresh sushi and other oriental favorites.

We have listed and sold nearly every type of Real Estate over the years, from leasing commercial property to selling or helping with the purchase of condos, luxury homes, lots for new construction homes and first time buyer type homes. We've sold an earth shelter home, helped with the sale of an envelope style solar home, its all fun.

Professional Interests

We volunteer for Xavier High school, our parrish church, we have coached numerous teams for each our children, worked as room mother in their various classrooms during the younger years.  Now that our youngest is in the forth year of her college experience we also help her in some of her volunteer ventures.  She has helped feed the homeless at a homeless shelters near her university in Ames. We have helped her cook, serve, join in the meal and clean up.  This has brought an interesting experience to all of our lives.

Our two sons have attended and graduated from the university of Iowa and during their time there we also were involved in various service type ventures.  When all were younger we had the opportunity to work in the concessions at Carver Hawkeye Arena at fund raising events for some of their various athletic teams.

We have helped with the St Ludmila's Kolach Festival for many years in various capacities.  We each organized a breakfast meal for probably seven years each, Jean with a pancake breakfast; Sat morning of the festival and Phil with a scrambled egg and ham Sunday morning breakfast.  We helped over the years with organizing, donating, baking kolaches and selling raffle tickets for as many as 30 years.  We have helped with St Judes' Sweet Corn festival while and after our children attended LaSalle and St Judes schools.

Favorite Thing About Real Estate

My favorite thing to do is to search and find the right home for clients.  I love all aspects from the search to the showings to the excitement of writing the offer.  Listing homes is exciting too.  Its fun to help sellers to see what they may need to do to sell their homes and when it all works its very gratifying.

Benefit of a Team

My husband and I work as a team! We work well in that there are things that we each like better than others and we find that the shared experience helps in all aspects of this business.
